Week 4

Another week gone by.. Been working here for almost a month, maybe a little over actually. I've managed to complete a few sites, and I'm still having a time getting CSS to be my friend... Especially on http://edeg.us . I just have had a hard time getting the positioning to work like I want it do. Now I'm working on another site for a similar type of company.. Already got he layout done in photoshop and decided to do the css while I sliced up the image, see if that worked out better.

Lo and behold, it has worked much better. Only took me an hour to slice it up and turn it into a fully functional albiet empty website. I'll post a link here in my next entry.. I'm going to try and blog on a daily basis, keep it work related.. Maybe even share some knowledge here and thre, if I find any.

Been working on a new site during my contractor-ship with ETV Studio.. The design was already done by the previous developer and its been my job to cut it up and code it and the css. It's really been a learning experience as the entire site is done in pure css...

Using Windows Live Writer

by Studio Vann | 5:05 AM in | comments (0)

Lets just give this a shot.. Updating the blog using Live Writer. Seems like a fairly simple interface where I can add all sorts of fun stuff, videos, maps, photo albums,, Other things perhaps. I have not really delved too deep into the application to see what all I can do.

I think however, that Contribute might be a little more of a power house of a blog editing application. I don’t really have time to do a nice long entry as it is 4am and I have an early morning tomorrow. So, let us consider this a test, and I’ll play more later.

Twitter

Let's see what happens when we integrate twiterfeed.com into the Studio Vann blog... Which is of course http://studiovann.blogspot.com.

The potfolio is almost complete, needs to be bound, printed (not in that order) and then reviewed. I have 12 pages thus far, and feel like that should be plenty of design work. It samples works ranging to logo design, business collateral, marketing data sheets, web sites and some various GUI concepts that I've done over the years.. I hope all of this goes well, I can't wait to get back into a serious job doing what I love to do. Create.

The studiovann.com website is undergoing a complete overhaul... I had a problem with my hosting provider so now I've moved everything over to a server which belongs to a close friend of mine. Shouldnt be seeing any more problems with the site, once I get it back up.

I would amost like a vote however.. Should the newdesign be standard design tables, etc and a style sheet or should I go all the way with web 2.0 and use xml/css entirely?

Give me your opinion in the comments!!!

Give me some input on these before I order 1000 or more of them! Personally, I love the design.. Has that less is more feeling, bright colors and a little bit of logical flair so to speak... Don't hesitate to comment and bring your thoughts to the table!
